The currency in IMVU is called Credits. You use credits to buy things for your avatar in the IMVU catalog. These virtual items include fashion pieces (hair, clothes, skins, and accessories), pets, and 3D scenes. How do you get Credits? One way is by buying them from the catalog. IMVU gives free promotional credits to encourage member participation, referrals, and new users. So, you can earn credits by getting your friends to sign up and getting them to purchase credits earns you even more.
The IMVU catalog contains items created by independent Developers. IMVU makes this function available to anyone who wants to make their own products and gives them to development tools to do so. This is another way to make lots of credits.
